ABSTRACT
The demand for energy media and information exchange in the 21st century is increasing. Numerous natural gas pipelines, power lines, telecommunications, and optical fibres run through the seabed. Wind formations are being built in the Baltic Sea. These installations, like any technical device, require supervision. In recent years, they have also become the target of terrorist attacks and sabotage. Therefore, there is a need to monitor threats to critical infrastructure. The work presents the concept of an underwater towed vehicle intended for monitoring underwater installations, which is a relatively cheap solution and can be easily adapted to specific needs and purposes. The vehicle's shape, the method of calculating its dimensions, strength calculations using CAE software, and calculations of movement resistance and lifting forces using CFD software were proposed. A simple drive and control system for the submersible thrusters was proposed. The results of theoretical vehicle balancing calculations are presented.
