ABSTRACT
The article considers network traffic as an aggregation of information flows from typical information objects, which can be apartment buildings, student campuses, office centers, sports and entertainment facilities of general use, etc. The study showed that the amount of information transferred by the TCP protocol significantly exceeds (by orders of magnitude) the amount of information transferred by the UDP protocol, which illustrates the average daily traffic graph of the amount of information transferred by the TCP and UDP protocols. Methods of traffic analysis are considered, the most significant characteristics of traffic are determined.
