ABSTRACT
We investigate a single walled Carbon Nanotube under an axially directed compressive line loading applied at both of its edges. The expected buckling behavior we study by application of a molecular computation approach. We formulate a global potential and search for its minimum to obtain the equilibrium configuration. Using besides the main parameter, which is the value of the loading, as second parameter the diameter of the tube, we are able to define the critical value of the diameter, for which we obtain the coincident case of local shell buckling.
